¹ Therefore, my brothers and sisters, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way my beloved.

Oh God my Father, we are all one family, and in You, we are all related, Therefore let we all consider each other as being really and truly as being sister and brother. May we express our love and care for each other in a genuine way and not out of personal need or favours Amen. 


² I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord.

Oh God my beloved Father, I pray that we all copy the other in our faith and that we aim to compete with each other in outstanding fervour and belief Amen.


³ Yes, and I ask you also, my loyal companion, help these women, for they have struggled beside me in the work of the gospel, together with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are in the book of life.

Oh God, my beloved Father I also would like to thank You and others who have helped me in starting this blog and others who had helped me in making background music and who had given me other ideas. Above all, I thank You for giving me this love for prayer especially on the Bible Amen and I thank You for our relationship by means of these prayers Amen. 


⁴ Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. ⁵ Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. ⁶ Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplications with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. ⁷ And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Oh God, my Father, I thank You for these words of encouragement and reassurance. To You, I will turn in the spirit of Thanksgiving with full confidence that You are always near and You never refuse my prayers. Oh God, tonight I am making the following request;-


I would like You to provide me with a partner who really understands me. Ideally, she is from the same profession as myself or one that is similar, so that she can accept the nature of my work and work hours and conditions. Moreover, she is a person with whom I can freely share my daily experiences feelings and emotions and most of all my relationship of prayer with You my God and Father Amen. 


I am aware that I am married and separated and that I have You as my companion but as a human, I long for the human company as did Adam in the garden of Eden Amen. Thank You, Jesus, Amen.


⁸ Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Oh God, my beloved Father in time You have taught me to focus on what is positive and not on what is not commendable and negative. Amen. 


⁹ Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.


(The Letter of St. Paul to the Philippians Chapter 4 verse 9)


At the time when I am asking for guidance, You give me the right answer my God and Father. You are showing me the right way, that of staying in a relationship with You and then You will make clear the seemingly foggy way of my life. I pray that You continue to be the light that guides me in this sinful world of confusion Amen.


¹⁰ I rejoice in the Lord greatly that now, at last, you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned for me, but had no opportunity to show it.


(The Letter of St. Paul to the Philippians Chapter 4 verse 10)


Oh God my Father this is also my primary issue, apart from You and my mother I have nobody else to really care for me, or if they do nobody is showing me that they care for me or doing something practical to show me that they care for me. Amen. I need Your support, my God and Father Amen.


¹¹ Not that I am referring to being in need; for I have learned to be content with whatever I have.

Oh God, my Father, my problem is not that I am not happy with what I have, but because what I have is not making me happy. I realize that the world can never fulfil my happiness completely however at least maybe partially in an area where I spend the most time Amen.


¹² I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need. ¹³ I can do all things through him who strengthens me. ¹⁴ In any case, it was kind of you to share my distress.

Oh God my Father You have taught me to adapt in different circumstances, I have lived among the rich the middle classes and even among the poor. I have lived as a married man and now I am living as a married man. I thank You for all these changes that You wanted me to experience Amen. I am an instrument in Your hands, use me for any noble or inferior purpose, my God and Father Amen.



¹⁴ In any case, it was kind of you to share my distress.


(The Letter of St. Paul to the Philippians Chapter 4 verse 14)



Oh friends brothers and sisters how nice it is to bear another's distress just by being there and listening to the person sharing one's thoughts and feelings. I call it an act of love given directly from the heart. You Yourself told us to cast our burdens on to You. Thank You for being a shoulder to cry on and a tower of support Amen. 


¹⁵ You Philippians indeed know that in the early days of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone. ¹⁶ For even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me help for my needs more than once.

Oh God my Father, if St. Paul recalled those generous acts done by the Philippians, how much more do You remember when we help others throughout our daily lives Amen. I know that in helping others no acts go to waste Amen.


¹⁷ Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the profit that accumulates to your account.


(The Letter of St. Paul to the Philippians Chapter 4 verse 17)


Oh God my Father as in the case of St. Paul You consider our material gain but our spiritual for after all that is really and truly of value Amen.


¹⁸ I have been paid in full and have more than enough; I am fully satisfied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God.

Oh God, my Father You are the greatest gift of all. The more I have of You is never enough to quench my thirst for You. I wish that I am gifted with the opportunity of seeing You face to face and speak to You as I do to humans. Amen.


¹⁹ And my God will fully satisfy every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Oh God my Father You are aware of my needs and You cater for them according to the plan that You have made for me. You are aware of needs that I am not even aware of and in faith I trust that when the time comes Your plan will continue to unfold Amen.


²⁰ To our God and Father be glory forever and ever Amen.

Amen Amen and Amen blessed be Your holy name forever and ever Amen.


²¹ Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The friends who are with me greet you. ²² All the saints greet you especially those of the emperor's household. ²³ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

Oh God, my Father I would like to end this fourth and final chapter of the letter of St. Paul to the Philippians with the following prayer:


Oh God, my Father I offer You all my friends and even those who once were are now not. I offer them to You to love and to cherish, to keep and to care for Amen

¹ To write the same things to you is not troublesome to me, and for you it is a safeguard.

(The third chapter of St. Paul's letter to the Philippians verse 1)

Oh God my Father, listening to the same thing again and again does not hurt at all, for every time my state of mind changes and even the circumstances of my life. This is the case of when I pray every morning. You give me a new vision for the day and a new message to accompany me during that same day. Amen. Thank You, Jesus.


² Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of those who mutilate the flesh! ³ For it is we who are the circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and boast in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the flesh-⁴ even though I too, have reason for confidence in the flesh. If anyone else has reason to be confident in the flesh, I have more; ⁵ circumcised on the eighth day, a member of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew born of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee; ⁶ as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness under the law blameless.

Oh God my beloved Father, even though we are both flesh and spirit, we are to side with the Spirit, and what is of the Spirit, for it is the Spirit that is of real value, for it is going to save our souls. The body is only a vessel which transports the body to where ever You wish to send us Amen. Even though as in the case of St. Paul he had a lot on which to boast, we are to retain our humility Amen.


⁷ Yet whatever gains I had, these I have come to regard as loss because of Christ.

Oh God my beloved Father, what is of gain in this world such as fame power and popularity along with wealth and other means are a hindrance in the spiritual world because they keep us tied to this material world. I pray oh Jesus, that in time You free us from these weights that are tied to our ankles hindering us from walking in the path of our salvation Amen.


⁸ More than that, I regard everything as loss because of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and I regard them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ ⁹ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but one that comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God based on faith.



(The third chapter of St. Paul's letter to the Philippians verses 8 to 9)




Oh God my beloved Father, what is of the world is of the world and what is of God is of God. I pray that You help me in making the right choices in order to follow in Your footsteps and not according to the ways of the world Amen.




¹⁰ I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the sharing of his sufferings by becoming like him in his death, ¹¹ if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead.

Oh God my Father, I wish that I become more like You and less like me, I would like You to teach me how to learn how to imitate You. I pray that I learn how to use scripture as my point of reference and not human feelings or reasoning Amen.  




¹² Not that I have already obtained this or have already reached the goal; but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.





(The third chapter of St. Paul's letter to the Philippians verse 12)




Oh God, my Father, the only remaining goal in my life is to live my life not for myself but for You. I dedicate my life totally to You my God and Father. I pray that You help me live it according to Your holy Will Amen.




¹³ Beloved, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, ¹⁴ I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus.



(The third chapter of St. Paul's letter to the Philippians verses 13 to 14) 




Oh god my beloved Father, I beg that You show me Your ways that I may follow You. I am living in a world of darkness am groping here and there to manage my way, my only aim is to follow the true way and ray of light that leads to my salvation. I pray that You teach me to obey Your ways so that Your righteousness will abide in me Amen.



¹⁵ Let those of us then who are mature be of the same mind; and if you think differently about anything, this too God will reveal to you. ¹⁶ Only let us hold fast to what we have attained.

Oh God, I thank You for tolerating us and our conflicting thoughts about the world and at times even of You, however, it is a must that we tolerate such views as long as they do not go against what You have taught us to hold as being the truth Amen. 



¹⁷ Brothers and sisters, join in imitating me, and observe those who live according to the example you have in us.



(The third chapter of St. Paul's letter to the Philippians verse 17) 



Let us all have the common aim to imitate You, my God and Father. May this be the common goal that unites us as Christians Amen. Even though this is not an easy goal, if we pray for Your help and if it is according to Your will it will be done. Amen.



¹⁸  For many live as enemies of the cross of Christ; I have often told you of them, and now I tell you even with tears. ¹⁹ Their end is destruction; their god is the belly; and their glory is in their shame; their minds are set on earthly things.



(The third chapter of St. Paul's letter to the Philippians verses 18 to 19) 



Oh God my beloved Father instead of judging such people I pray for them, for it is indeed heartbreaking that there still exists such people. I can only imagine the pain and anger that they may be or may have experienced in order to have such a negative mindset. They must be really hurt. I pray to You on their behalf my God and Father Amen.



²⁰ But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. ²¹ H will transform the body of our humiliation that it may be conformed to the body of his glory, by the power that also enables him to make all things subject to himself.




(The third chapter of St. Paul's letter to the Philippians verses 20 to 21) 



Oh God, my blessed Father, although we are socially citizens of the world, in truth we are also citizens of heaven. We have dual citizenship. I pray that through our choices we choose to conform to what is according to Your will which is that of the Kingdom of Heaven Amen.


Oh, Father in heaven, my blessed and Holy Father, I would like to end this meditation on the third chapter of the letter of St. Paul to the Philippians with the following prayer:



Vincent Micallef a citizen of the world and a citizen of heaven. In humility and in truth I proclaim that I believe in You and in Your ability to transform me from a citizen of the world to a citizen of heaven, even if this requires going against my sinful nature.
